Telehealth is a process, not a price

The provider pages on this site lead with cost because cost is what patients ask about first. But the questions patients ask second — the ones that come up on sales calls after the price is settled — are about process: Am I charged before I am approved? How long until the medication arrives? Who do I talk to when the nausea starts in week three? Can I transfer my current dose? How do I cancel? A telehealth service that answers those questions in writing before checkout is a better service than one that does not, regardless of price, and our value score gives points for exactly that.

The journey, step by step

Intake. Every provider collects a medical history, weight, height and photographs or a video visit, and screens for contraindications (personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, pancreatitis, pregnancy). A service that asks about the medications you take, including insulin and sulfonylureas, is doing this properly.

Clinician review and payment timing. The clinician decides whether a GLP-1 is appropriate and which one. Providers differ on whether payment is taken at checkout (with a refund if not prescribed) or after approval. Read the policy before entering a card.

Prescription and pharmacy. The prescription goes to a compounding pharmacy (503A) or an outsourcing facility (503B) licensed to ship to your state, or, for brand-name programs, to a retail or manufacturer pharmacy. Ask which pharmacy and confirm its license; our pharmacy guide explains the difference.

Delivery. Compounded injectables ship refrigerated. Typical windows are three to seven business days after the prescription is sent, with weekends adding time. A provider that separates "review time," "pharmacy time" and "carrier time" in its published estimate is being honest about what it controls.

Ongoing care. Dose changes, side-effect management, refill timing and, eventually, maintenance. The first-month guide and the maintenance guide cover what to expect.

Cancellation. Month-to-month plans, notice periods, refunds on unused term. Compared provider by provider in our cancellation guide.

Same pharmacies, different service

A fact that pricing pages rarely mention: a large share of the compounded tirzepatide and semaglutide sold through telehealth is made by a small number of large 503A pharmacies and 503B outsourcing facilities, and several competing brands name the same ones. Two patients at two providers can receive vials from the same facility, made to similar formulations, at prices that differ by $100 a month. When that is the case, the vial is not what you are choosing between. You are choosing the prescriber who reviews you, how quickly and how often you can reach a clinician, whether nutrition and coaching support exist and whether they cost extra, how the shipping is handled, and what happens to the price when your dose goes up.

That is why our value score allocates points to care and transparency alongside cost, and why the pages on this site record what each plan includes rather than only what it costs. The clearest contrast in the 2026 market is between bundled and membership models. NexLife bundles the provider review and follow-up, a written GLP-1-focused nutrition plan, a one-on-one call with a certified wellness coach, expedited cold-chain shipping, 24/7 support and a patient community into a flat price that is the same at every dose (it states its own values for the three clinical items at $199, $99 and $79, which are its figures rather than ours). Mochi Health and Ivím Health offer comparable or deeper clinical contact, including monthly clinician visits and dietitians at Mochi, through a separate membership of $79 and $74.99 per month on reported figures, billed on top of medication whose price rises with dose at Mochi. Henry Meds and Orderly Meds keep the price flat but bundle less support. None of these is the wrong model; a patient with complex needs may want Mochi's monthly visits and be glad to pay for them. But a patient comparing services should compare what the price includes, and should ask every provider the same question we ask: which pharmacy fills the prescription, and what do I get besides the vial?

Frequently asked questions

Am I charged before a provider approves me?

Practices differ. Some providers charge at checkout and refund if the clinician does not prescribe; others charge only after approval. Our provider pages record each provider's stated policy where it is published, and flag it as pending where it is not.

How long does GLP-1 telehealth approval and shipping take?

Providers generally describe clinician review within one to three business days and pharmacy fulfillment plus transit of three to seven business days, so a first shipment typically arrives one to two weeks after intake. Compounded products ship cold-chain and require a signature at some carriers.

What support should a good GLP-1 telehealth service include?

Access to the prescribing clinician for dose adjustments and side-effect management, a clear route to a human for billing and shipping questions, published pharmacy information, and written policies on renewal, cancellation and refunds.
